Megas gave us options to build around if we don't want to use the broken ones, cross gen evolutions lock anything not called Porygon 2 and Chansey into the shit tier thanks the new Pokemon that has the old one moveset and better stats with a probably better movepool and probably a different ability.
Tell me how did cross gen evolution help old Pokémon, at least Megas give you a choice without power creeping the new best thing anyone can use with lefties or making an old pokemon completely obsolete.
Go ahead defend cross gen evolutions, I dare you. But making an old pokemon better is an argument cross gen evolutions will never win.
