Leaf is the canon protag and chose Charmander. Blue is her rival and he chose Squirtle and became the champion.

Maybe Red in Generations did some link cable trading.

The name autism going on in all these threads is really sad. Blue and Green are the exact same character in game canon. FRLG's female proragonist has no official name besides Leaf. It's not hard.
