The way Pokémon are presented in the anime and the games they are pretty much just animals on the outside but mentally at near human oder even human capacity. Going apeshit at someone who is attracted to them is just as bad as going apeshit just because someone finds a Klingon, a Na'vi, or Gamora hot. Which is stuff, that has already been portrayed on TV/Film. And amazingly, nobody cared. I mean how alien is a character allowed to look, before it's ever so beastly to be attacted to them? Remember, mentally Pokémon are on par with humans. They have feelings and they show them. Honestly, I think if you were to tell your Pokémon "Don't hit on me, you look like a fox/wolf/dog/horse/whatever, that's disgusting!", then YOU are the bad guy.
