This is a terrible and absurd defense of the Gen 1 pandering. When GSC has 20 years, RBY has 24, so it's always going to be the aniversary of the first games.

It's the same absurd case as if your older sibling or your father says you "this will occur when you are older than me".

stop being in denial, it's gen 1 only. They're doing this so people have to buy the VC releases and transfer via bank to get the regular forms.

There were 0 reasons to market to a specific gen in gen 6, beyond trying to get hoennbabies back for ORAS.

With SM they started releasing trailers and shit in February, which weren't tailored to any one gen, but after Pokemon GO blew up in July gen 1 pokemon have been used almost exclusively against Alolan forms and gen 7 pokemon in the trailers.

because gen 1 pokemon are the most popular and they're showing the connection from SM to the 20 year old games. It has nothing to do with Go. If anything Go's lack of new Pokemon proves they have no problem doing Gen 1 exclusive things.
