Seriously its my favourite Gen VII pokemon. I love the idea of chimeras.
How strong does /vp/ think it will be? Will it be a viable competitive mon?

It's confirmed a "pokemon" so getting one is gonna happen.

As for how strong, it's kind of a toss up. It's supposed to be very stong in lore but also the mask is supposed to limit it so it might end up shit.

Pure normal and battle armor aint doing it any favors eaither, so you best hope for godly stats or crazy movepool for comp viability

Not who you're responding to, but he does have a point. Heatran is gendered, and unlike other gendered legendaries, it can be either gender. It's also weaker than most legendaries in terms of base stats and is usable in competitive formats, not unlike trio legendaries. It also doesn't have a great deal of lore surrounding it, and it certainly isn't god-like.

It's a legendary, but it's one of the least legendary-like legendaries there is.

If this thing doesn't end up with 150 Atk and SpA, 150 Spe, protean, and access to the strongest physical and special moves of every type, or at least some broken shit in the same level as that, I don't know how they'll live up to the lore they created for it.

Other than that, I can surely see it being viable, yes. Don't know on what level, but I would like to hope for it to be OU material at the very least.
