Because the EXP system was different from the first 4 gens (and gen 6). Also audino grass.

FYI, Sun and Moon is bringing that EXP system back, so expect a similar curve brudda

The only way I'd have a problem with this is if they ended up with a bunch of basic stage pokemon that evolve at level 50 or something like they did with a bunch of BW's mons
