Caves fucking rock. The entire mini region to explore was amazing. Battleground for rematches, rival getting stronger, little bit of lore to keep you entertained and give closrue to the rest of the evil team that kinda just vanished after distortion world.

Not sure about Johto, but in Platinum the Battle Zone is very explicitly a jungle.

Sinnoh was a great region because of its layout. It's craggy and messy, and the routes were just well done, IMO.

Played through Platinum for the first time and I gotta disagree with you. Region's feels clumsy as fuck, with the engine really holding it back and the region's Pokemon not doing any better. The snow path part was a great idea but it's just not done well with sprites.

I want a remake of it so it can actually live up to its potential because as it stands it's just not good enough.
