>can't transfer Dittos immediately for easy breeding

At least you can hyper train a Ditto and anything else you may need, but we still don't know how tedious that process may be

My 3DS has custom firmware, so I can just backup and restore my Sun save at any time. Shouldn't take too long for PKHaX to get updated for gen 7.

The more the gap is closed, pokemon becomes less of a game and more of a battle simulator. I say let people play the way they want to based on what kind of experience they want. Personally, I hex all my competitive mons and prefer my post-game to be showdown with in-game graphics, as all i do in oras is wifi battles and, rarely, the maison. Many other people don't want that, and that's fine by me, but adding too many competitive features to the intended game could be overwhelming for more casual players.

Color me cynical, but I'm getting the feeling that the delay is to hopefully render some player's Bank subscription expired so that they have to shell out another $5 for Sun and Moon connectivity.

It's either to stop people who would have unlocked pokebank after a few days from trading non-SM mons with everyone else (through regular or wonder trande) and/or programming in inaccessability to an application outside of the game before a certain point in-game would be too much of a hassle for GF.

You're showing signs of early Alzheimer's. People, especially those on 4chan, were aggravated by it. When a promised feature is delayed over and over again fans tend to get upset, and reasonably so. It's a service that cost money, fails to apply a competent hack check, and isn't available at launch. Pokemon has a strong and loyal fanbase. Sure, it probably didn't affect sales of core games, but that doesn't mean a company should continue to make the same mistake again.

Judging the response by 4chan of all things is ridiculous.

In any case the scale of the complaints was about on the same size as Go when trackers were taken down. This is what we call a vocal minority, they make the outcry seem bigger than it actually is due to their frequency and how loud they are.

It's not so much that I'm forgetting the details as you're over exaggerating them. Again like with Go the complaints were minimal but frequent making the whole situation seem worse than it actually was. This was only three years ago, you should really remember this.
