Fucking Game Freak. I'm done with this franchise. They don't give a shit about consistency or world building anymore. It's almost like Pokémon types are decided completely at random these days.

I agree but it doesn't make me wanna give up the franchise because I almost always end up using mostly gen1 and gen2 Pokemon in my team's anyway. New Pokemon a shit.

my sole criticism of typing this entire gen so far has been Minior. Why is it part Flying type? Just because it can float?

Every single other Flying type in the games has wings or some appendage to allow flight. But not Minior.

Drifloon and Drifblim are balloons. Their bodies are made for flight.

Gyarados is because its body acts as a wind sock.

And, contrary to popular belief, Doduo and Dodrio do in fact have wings. Its pokedex entries in both the games and the anime confirm this, plus it can learn Fly and Steel wing. It just has small wings that it hides in its frathers.

I guess the argument can be made that, like Drifloon, Minior's body is light and hollow and made for hovering. But it still doesn't sit right with me.

If it had Levitate like Solrock and Lunatone it wouldn't be able to have Shields Down which is its entire gimmick. Hence the part flying type

The majority of those still just look like a rock with something attached to it. Golem is definitive boulder tier. Sorry for wanting something besides a slow, physically offensive and defensive obviously a rockmon for once.

Fossils are a special case imo since it's sort of apparent they're all rock because of the defosssilization process and usually nothing else.
