This is wrong, all abilities are gained as soon as you mega. This is why Intimidate and Magic Bounce work as soon as you mega.

However, even if you get Prankster via Mega Evolving, the turn order was already decided before you mega'd. This is why Mega Banette doesn't get priority after Mega Evolving and why Sableye gets the effcts of Prankster during the turn it Mega Evolves.

Smogon rules: you can't Baton Pass Speed + something else, so for "internet competitive" players this'll be a non-issue.

Everywhere else: I'm going to upload a damage calculator on unaware Clefable with a potential Eevee move set, and where it's stats would be maxed out, at level 100, with the boost; the cool thing about Eevee is that it can learn STORED POWER, which would be amazing against the fighting types used to counter it. Still, it's power is a bit underwhelming if you have the right defensive mon to counter it. Whirlwind, Unaware Clefable / Quagsire, etc.

Update to this:

Eevee would have a 68% chance to OHKO Defensive Lando T with HP Ice.

Can do around 75% damage to Mega Scizor with HP Fire.

Doesn't outspeed Scarf Lando T; Eevee fren hits the 458 speed mark at max investment.

75% to Tank Chomp with HP Ice.

75% chance to OHKO Azumarill with Double Edge, is faster than him, and he can only do 45% with Aqua Jet.

Does NOTHING to Mega Sableye.

Everyone keeps talking about "DUDE BATON PASSED EXTREME EVOBOOST IS GONNA WRECK EVERYTHING" but fails to consider a few basic facts. Eevee has 55 base HP and 50/65 defenses, which is very frail compared to most fully evolved Pokémon. It also only has 55 speed, so unless the Z-Move has priority, it's going to struggle to get the move off before it gets one-shot. It also can't hold an item other than the respective Z-Crystal, so you can't use an Eviolite or Focus Sash to sate those problems.

Basically, if you lose because an Eevee set up with Extreme Evoboost, you deserved it.

Just put max Evs in Def and SpDef, only use Eevee as a baton passer.

Think of Eevee as a suicide pokemon that accomplishes little aside from setting up rocks -- only in this case it's setting up huge stat boosts.

Don't even use Eevee right away. Save it until you have an opening and use it as a revenge kill of sorts.

Eevee really only needs one turn because it will likely be faster than the pokemon currently in after the boosts. If it's slower, you made a shit play. If the opponent switches at any time during that -- GG. If the opponent has a priority move, you're an idiot for bringing out Eevee at this time.

It's a do or die pokemon that probably won't even have a chance to set up. Stall teams have good answers to better gimmicks then this and hyper offense can just plow through it.

You'd have to be up against a moderately slow weak pokemon that can't use taunt or whirlwind or any other phasing move.

In fact if you go max bulk it's probably going to end up taking 2 hits from most offensive pokemon anyway in which it won't survive.

If you're max speed your going to die on the first hit.

It only works in very specific situations. FEAR probopass and aron are better gimmicks then this.

The enemy you send it on shouldn't have taunt or whirlwind, and isn't something insanely fast.

Just use the move, tank 1 hit or they waste a turn switching, then either baton pass with higher speed, or die because you didn't take out their fast counter to the strategy

It's not something you can pull off every time, but it's not as braindead to counter as you're pretending.
