The Blue short was as uninteresting as I expected. But it did remind me this is the least cheerful Elite Four out of all of them. I think it would go a long way if the games tried to make the E4 this intimidating and aloof again. Otherwise you get glorified gym leaders and people complaining how unmemorable they were.

There's 18 episodes. If they split it evenly, the first three should be Gen 1. Especially considering episode 1 was a little of all of them, of course this episode was gonna be Gen 1.

I wouldn't even be surprised if the next is still Gen 1 given the general nature of the first episode combined with the pandering to Gen 1 they usually do. If episode 5 ends up being Gen 1 still then I'll start complaining

After going through those versions of the second chapter, I'd say Italian>French>English>Spanish.
The later even dared to swap "charisma" with "power".
I can hardly understand any French though. Just enough to catch that French kept the "all pokémon are for benefit of the Team Rocket" rather than the "one day all pokémon will be ours" that the other two langauges have.

All of these episodes are about 5 minutes short so why the fuck do they look so bad. They literally look worse than the regular TV anime. Did they hire 12 year old Korean animators to do this?

All the shading looks awful, the backgrounds have no detail, and the animations is really stiff.

The trainer in the first episode wasn't Red. It wasn't intended to be part of the story of Pokemon, it's just a conceptual thing showing a player's journey through the series, using Pikachu because that's the series mascot.
