Ferrothorn and Skarmory are generally used as leads, and generally Ferrothorn is chosen over Skarmory because it has better potential for setting up entry hazards, while Skarmory has the potential to do more damage and also has a HP recovery move. I use a scarfed Metagross sometimes, as it's not usually the Metagross setup people expect when they see it on your roster. It's more from RSE.
Steelix is good, but M-Steelix is a waste of a mega slot.
