In ORAS, 10 characters had Mega Evolutions, with 4 of them only being battleable once.
I don't think all that many characters will have Mega Evolutions in SM. Maybe the final Kahuna, the Champion if there is any, Hau/Gladion by the end-game and maybe Guzma/Lussmine will have in their final battle as well. Maybe all of the Kahunas will have in their rematches, if rematches is even a thing.
