I don't know what a9lh is. I just followed a tutorial posted here, got homebrew and some apps like PCHex and others.

It literally doesn't matters anyways, new updates brings new things and with a9lh you basically have a regular 3DS but fully unlocked.
You can just freely update not giving a shit.

Not to mention some games require updates to work at all, then there's stuff like freeshop, and having other stuff updated.
It's not just a "why update" thing but it's that with a9lh there's just no real reason to NOT update, at least after people figured out if the update changes something on a9lh, which I doubt nintendo will ever do.

My friend is always bugging me to play Animal Crossing with him, but I keep losing my copy.
Freeshop + being up to date solves this.

Oh, and grabbing skills from castles in Fates also requires online, though I suppose you could just use the save editor if you had to.

Last update that brought new shit other than "le stability xd" and inconveniences such as a browser that doesn't work on captive portal networks was literally 1 and half a year ago.

Also recent versions of Luma spoof the friends list version and I think it prevents the update nag from showing too, so there's not much reason to update either. I'm still on 11.0 because I don't really care and can still play online as normal, and don't care about the eShop since it fucks my DLC. Upgrading would require me to also upgrade BootNTR and I randomly heard the 11.1 one has issues with certain plugins (may be BS but why am I even upgrading again?)
