Solar Power is not mandatory, it gets it if you want a Mega on a Sun team (the weather, not the game itself)

its a shitty ability regardless of sun
especially since it has access to np which can trade one turn for a bigger boost with no health drain that also isnt limited to the sun

The only thing that kills it for me is Solar Power. Just come one please. Why force doubles on this guy. I wanted so much more for my all time favorite.
And now that it has a mega evo its pretty much "finished" as far as it ever getting any kinda update in the future again.

Solar Power's only downside for it is the health drain, which is pretty silly, but probably happened because ability-set weather was permanent way back when. It should be removed now that weather got nerfed.

Fire Blast, Dark Pulse, Solar Beam, Sunny Day is a great set on it, since it breaks virtually everything and hits harder than Mega Charizard Y. If Solar Power's drain got removed, I'd use it all the time in OU.
