Comes BW2 and PWT allows both Triples and Rotations in conjuction with Singles and Doubles.
XY introduced Inverse Battles. No third/sequels means that only a trainer with shitmons for a team is the only time in the games were Inverse Battles occur until SM release. (Triples and Rotations were added in Battle Tower/Subway/Maison a Gen later after their introduction)
