In 2013 everything was overdesigned with shadows and highlights everywhere, there's no real coherent design you can make out because it's just a clusterfuck of incoherent elements. 2016 also suffered from this but to a lesser extent, you could see they were starting to understand how to streamline design instead of thinking that more microdetail and muh shadows = better.
I don't think anybody can honestly say they want things to go back to how they were in 2016 without being a massive nostalgiafag.
