If we're talking content, quality>quantity. BW2 has it beat in quality and certainly has a lot to do too.

Most of the problems of HGSS were fixed in the drayano hacks.

It's not like your GBA mons are completely locked out though. You just need a Gen IV game. Yeah, it sucks, but honestly if someone has a Gen III game and a Gen V game, chances are they'll have a Gen IV game too.

It isn't anything that impacts the quality of either games IMO.

The whole of 4th gen is slow and a drag to get through for me. I like a lot of the sinnoh Dex, and I'm grateful for the physical/special split, but the games themselves just aren't very good.

It really didn't. It's a slow game still, the distribution is still shit (this is also partially due to gen 4's lack of good Pokemon) and the game's gimmick is really shit (Distortion World).

Really, Platinum's favoritism here baffles me.

I thought it was HGSS but after replaying the games and their remakes I've found that I enjoy Emerald the most. It was a strange feeling because I'm a giant nostalgiafag for gen 2.
