Why can't more mythical pokemon in-game be made available like Deoxys? I'm tired of wanting some pokemon and having to wait months for a random event to get it myself. Sure Magearna can be made event-only but why keep pokes like Celebi and Jirachi event-only?

I read an idea on here once that every wild pokemon should have a 1/8192 chance to be transformed Mew, but you don't know it's Mew until after you catch it. I liked that idea since it gives you a motivation to keep catching Pokemon throughout the game even when you already have your team.

If/when we get Gen 4 remakes, I really hope we get a 'Delta episode' focusing on Arceus. Even an extended, in-game version of the Darkrai event would be interesting enough.

I don't know that's one thing I have to give gen 3. It had some of the best places for tracking down legendaries if you got the mystery gift.

It's not just the wait, it's the loss of immersion. It makes sense if they distribute a special item that allows you to unlock some event in the game, but what is the player supposed to feel when legendaries are directly gifted to them?

There are lots of possibilities for a DP Delta Episode.
Darkrai's event could be extended as part of it.
Turnback Cave could be part of it, but not necessarily making Giratina the final boss.
The Azure Flute and the Hall of Origin could make an official appearance.
Given the whole >ALCHEMY thing, Shaymin could also be part of it.

I'd rather they not shoehorn in shaymin like they did in the movie. Unlike Deoxys and Ray where Deoxys has to trespass on Ray's domain to get to earth Shaymin has nothing to do with Giratina or the distortion world.

Gen II started the "Mythical Pokémon should be awakened by an item" thing with the GS Ball, it also started the tradition of "battling Mythical Pokémon" (Celebi)

Gen III kept that tradition but was ignored for Jirachi and Japanese Celebi (both were either Bonus Disc or event)

In Gen IV, HGSS stopped that tradition with Arceus and Celebi being given to you by Mystery Gift.

Gen V was the last Gen in which Mythical Pokémon could be battled instead of being given to you (BW Victini)

Shaymin is venerated throughout the entire Sinnoh region and there's tons of references to it everywhere. And considering the possibility of it having a role in the Azoth-story, it would be so fucking easy for them to properly add it to the story without it feeling forced or particularly shoehorned.

I think that was the point he was trying to make. Soaring out into the outer atmosphere to challenge Deoxys in space is much more memorable than some nameless benefactor leaving a Mew for you at a pokemon center with no explanation.

That anon then said it would cause a loss of immersion if they were given to you instead of receiving an item like previous events implying Deoxys in ORAS was a giftmon. Either that anon misinterpreted OP's post or he's never touched ORAS.

This is obviously talking about events where you get them handed to you directly, the exact same problem OP has as well. Deoxys wasn't handed to you directly, and neither OP nor that Anon implied so at all. He even agreed with OP on it being annoying, and simply added that direct gifts were without immersion.

Mew was a literal meme in the first place so it's justified.

Celebi had to be catched in front of its temple in the Ilex Forest.

Jirachi has no excuses.

Deoxys had to be catch on his own island.

Manaphy had its own story where you had to get the egg in Pokémon rangers.

Darkrai had its own island and lore.

Shaymin had its own location, so did Arceus and Victini.

The only mythical pokémon they throw at you were Jirachi, Meloetta and the gen 6 ones.
Don't talk as if every pokémon was a gift.

In fact there was no reason to mention pokemon being gifted to you reducing immersion because the topic is about removing the item and distro but retaining the event in game.
That anon was implying Deoxys was a giftmon any way you look at it.

Arceus just gave you another giftmon (most of the time Giratina because it's the only way to get his orb in HGSS) and Celebi gave you a giovanni fight that was easy as fuck.
