Falkeen looks a lot like a blue talonflame. There's also just something off about the wings to me. I really like the nest concept and the first two stages, but Falkeen is just a bit too much like Talonflame.

Yep! She sculps the orb out of a rock with her psychic powers and then carries it around.

Falkeen's design takes inspiration from the italian hawk. Its concept is based on the ability birds have to change their plumage from chicks to adults. In fact, once they grow old their feathers become stronger and more resistant, this is why Falkeen loses most of the heavy brown plumage and gains the steel type. :)

They are both based on Falcons, so they share a few elements which makes it come off as another Talonflame to me. It's most when I look at the beek and black eyelining. I just feel like a bit more of the nest fluff could have been retained in different places.

This is just personal preference but I think Maghina would be cuter if the orb was much larger.

Like big enough so she'd sit on it or something while she was idle. Or hides behind it when she's scared or bashful.

That's a nice thought!

I actually want to start a new drawing section called "get to know" in which i draw my fakes in their habitat, with different features and expressions, and interacting with people or other fakes. I will surely draw a bashful Maghina with a bigger sphere :D

That's what I was thinking too, but I was thinking more for battle haha. Kinda looks like it might be the lower half of its body, then it sends the ball out when it attacks.

I see what you mean and i respect your opinion, and thank you for the advices you gave me! :)

The concept is all about losing the fluff in return for stronger feathers, wich is why it gets steel/ flying. The plumage on the back remains as a nest for its babies :)

Anon, why you don't draw any inanimate object mon? animals are pretty easy to make Pokémon with them, but you need to put more effort and creativity to make a living object.
