Could Komala be a single-stage Pokemon? It's possible.
Could Komala also be a Pokemon that will evolve, and isn't being hyped up because it isn't as special as the other four mentioned? That's also possible and understandable.
There's absolutely no reason why you should become so dead set on one possibility when it can go either way. There's just as much possibility of it evolving as there is not evolving.
