As much as I'm excited for this, I have to wonder. Does this mean we have to expect less and less actual new pokemon for the upcoming generations and expect regional forms instead?

For example, I actually enjoy the fact that most regions have their own birds, bugs, etc. Many don't like this but I think it adds a lot to the world building and gives us variety.

However, for the less frequent niches (like Psychic, Fighting and Ghost types) we don't actually get them every (other) region. I'm afraid that they will just repurpose an old pokemon line, slap these types on and call it a day. Which I find disappointing if it's the case.
