Gen 6 and 7 on New Nintendo 3DS

I am about to get a New 3DS and was worried the screen might be too small for a 3D Pokemon game like XY, ORAS and SM, in comparison with the New 3DS XL.
For those of you who have the New 3DS and played XY and ORAS:
Does the game look alright?
Did you find the screen too small or not detailed enough?
Anything at all to keep in mind when getting a new 3DS?

The new 3ds screen is more crisp than the xl because they are the same resolution but one is stretched and distorted.

If you have somewhat big hands and play action and quick paced games like MH, get an XL. I have a regular one and my hands aren't even that big, yet I still get strains sometimes. It's slightly more comfortable.

That aside, the resolution is better since the pixels are less stretched. It's also pretty easy to fit into pockets. And if you want your new 3ds to feel more personal, customs plates are there for you. So, if you just intend to play Pokemon or games that don't require very fast reactions, go for the regular one.

it honestly looks much better on a normal n3ds and this is coming from someone who used to have an n3ds xl

no i didn't, in fact i think it's the perfect size for the resolution the 3ds has. the xl just looks like shit now

buttons are kind of weak dont press too hard on them

I grabbed the Mario bundle and have played X and RS on it, I love it. No trouble seeing details or anything. I played with the XL in the store and the screen size difference doesn't make up for the apparent downgrade in resolution.

I think this is the quickest comparison image.
Basically the New 3DS sits about 1/3 bigger screen than the original, but the New XL/Old XL sit at almost 2x the size.

I only had an Old 3DS and a New XL - the normal New 3DS sits between them in a zone I never went to. However, I doubt it'd be too small.

The Black one looks nice, but since the inside is black like the regular XL, I'm afraid of having smudges around the buttons.

So, I have the new 3DS XL. I have never had the XL handhelds and I may not get an XL again (if it is or isn't an option). As for why, this is totally my personal opinion but I think the balance is very off with the XL. It feels much heavier and you have to have a good grip on it to do much of anything. If you put it in your hand, palm out and just flip open the top it becomes so top heavy it will fall off your hand. So you holding it out you get this torque opposite your hands that puts a different kind of strain on your hands. But my DSi doesn't, or it is so small it isn't noticeable.

As for the screen. While it is bigger, it makes most details stretched out and pixelated. I'm in no way a graphics whore but it doesn't look charming, just like watching a VCR tape on a 4K TV screen.

Again...these are just opinions. If they had the regular sized 3DS solo in the US I would gladly have one.

on a more unethical side, n3ds has access to the snes virtual console and custom virtual console, so if you're a nostalgia fag thats a big plus
