I was bringing up other plot points from the manga: the voodoo dolls that Lorelei's Jynx make out of Ice Beam that cause ice to appear on the body of the person wherever the doll is marked (don't ask me how that makes any sense whatsoever) and the gym badges function as mind control (Bruno, a human, is controlled by them).
