I was born 95 aswell, and I can, until today, recall the moment I got Silver (and completely flipping out in happiness).

As for Red/Blue, I was not yet able to read, but I recall playing it (vaguely).

But my parents often used to retell these stories, so they refreshed the memories multiple times. So yes, I'd say I "lived through pokemania", too.
