Been thinking about finally nutting up and going to my first pokemon league at my local games store. I feel like it's all gonna be kids and I'm just going to be judged by parents for being 20 and playing a card game.

Hell, I even get the pleasure of showing kids that you don't need EX bullshit to win. Just plain old basic bullshit.

Source: Being older than you, and generally being well liked by the parents at the league I go to.

Are there any good incentives to playing vs just playing at home? I know magic has promos and stuff.

Yeah. Participation promos and stuff.

From my understanding, at most leagues, for every 8 games you play, you get a promo or code card.

There's also monthly tournaments, usually split in age category. Juniors(Kids)/Seniors (Teens)/Masters(Adults), with prizes.

And, of course, you get a wider variety of decks.

I'm actually building a couple of STUPID decks for fun right now. One's gonna be Bats, the other's gonna be Talonflame/Aerodactyl.

With Talonflame being 1/1/4.
