as for ORAS, I didn't need the Lati in my party, I wasn't going to teach my Sharpedo surf, and I have yet to actually use the Kyogre.

Basically yeah, its probably one of many reason why the region is actually to scale and not chibi. Look at what we got with XY and the rideable Pokemon, and the horrible model for Kyogre Surfing. I am really glad that they seemingly are getting their shit together.
