Star Wars could get a board to replace /vp/ that would be twice as popular and necessary. Is that going to happen? No, because like Pokémon, Star Wars has places all over 4chan that are relevant.
There is literally no reason or defense you have, at all, to say that the Anime General couldn't be sent to /a/, that roleplay threads shouldn't be on /trash/, that the competitive General shouldn't be on /vg/.
Deleting /vp/ isn't going to magically open a floodgate where all of our posters are going to try go back to /v/. We have cliques that we would rather stay a part of.
I don't WANT /vp/ gone by the way. Not in the slightest. I think a lot of our community would be destroyed. Comfy artwork, Shiny Hunting, that stuff would struggle to find a place on 4chan. And even Pokégirl threads, because most of the characters in Pokémon are underage/loli's and wouldn't be postable on any porn boards, assuming those aren't all deleted.
I am just saying that realistically, there is absolutely no reason /vp/ is safe just because we're popular. There is absolutely no reason why we couldn't be spread across to other relevant boards, just like Star Wars/other big multimedia franchises.
