Should I get ORAS? I've never played RSE, and I want the legendaries and new megas. But I've heard how easy it is and I don't want to steamroll through the whole game

I've never played RSE and I enjoyed it. It's far from being my favorite game but if you've never experienced Hoenn it's worth it just for that

You or whoever just said the game is easier with one. Meaning rushing through the game makes everything easier when it should be tougher. You should be heavily penalized for doing that.

set up rules for yourself. Use a monotype team, rotate your team after every gym, no healing items, etc. etc.
I used an all grass team in my ORAS and I wouldn't say it was particularly challenging but I still had fun

Because its a really well made game that adresses some of the issues in R/S along with having an expanded story and better graphics that look pretty good for the GBA
The music was also slightly altered in emerald to sound better
It also has the battle frontier in what I'd say its best iteration (along with a pretty easy to pull of cloning glitch for those shiny raquazs you got)
Also the sprites move and they made the sprites look better in general

Really its more that ORAS is pretty butchered and R/S are worse versions of emerald
