you do have a choice. Use another pokemon with the ability you want. Machamp is only worth using for No Guard. If you want to trick people just use Guts and bait the opponent into Will-O-Wisp.

That's exactly why we want other choices. It would make Machamp more viable and give it a much-needed boost solely based on being able to run other things.

It really wouldn't. There are better Pokemon if you want a defiant user. The only reason Machamp is even usable is because of No Guard Dynamic Punch.

It punishes common Fairy switch ins or just lures them, Sylveon, Florges and Clefable are all light, just put some EVs to outspeed their common spreads. Removing such common defensive core mons easily affects a match.

252+ Atk Machamp Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Florges: 262-310 (72.7 - 86.1%)

252+ Atk Machamp Heavy Slam (80 BP) vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Clefable: 170-200 (43.2 - 50.8%)
Should outspeed all the generally slow tanks and bulky mons, with 168 Speed EVs Florges too. But needs way less for base 60 Clefable and Sylveon. Close Combat is acceptable too for the sheer power.

Also activated Guts damage:

252+ Atk Guts Machamp Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Sylveon: 406-478 (103 - 121.3%)

252+ Atk Guts Machamp Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Florges: 394-464 (109.4 - 128.8%)

252+ Atk Guts Machamp Heavy Slam (80 BP) vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Clefable: 252-298 (64.1 - 75.8%)

It was eventually accepted by Smogon too.
