I hope you've learned the lesson. Batteries are unstable and can explode in any moment. Cheap Li-Ion Chinese batteries are the worst, because, to save costs they override any security measures they may possibly have.

I don't know shit about soldering or leaking batteries, so here I go.
I got this copy of Emerald a while back. The seller told me the battery was dead, but she'd solder in a new one. I paid for it, it worked and didn't think much else of it.
Cue me getting a Tri-Wing screwdriver a few months later for something unrelated, and I decide to open the cart for the hell of it, wondering how easy it could be to replace the battery in the future when it died.
And then I see pic-related. I don't know if it's because the previous battery leaked, if it was the piss poor soldering job the lady did, or just some random liquid that got into the cart. Whatever It is, it's rock solid now.
And the battery stopped working shortly after that, also.

Looks like flux. It'll probably clean off with some rubbing alcohol.

However she did do a piss-poor job though, because the solder didn't adhere to the battery tabs. It looks like she didn't get the battery tabs hot enough because the solder isn't sticking to the tabs - it's more as if the solder hardened around the tabs.

Here's my solder job I did for my emerald.
