Breeding for shinys to give to my friends, wondertrading all the extras to see all the unique names and trainer IDs I get.

I play the lottery every day too to try to get master balls. With all the ID's I have I get a lot of good prizes.

Battling for the sake of leveling up my team.

I usually stop right after the postgame because I'm not interested in grinding on wild encounters and predictable enemy rematches and send eggs of my previous team over to a fresh save to do it all over again.

Fewer bottle caps spent. We're still not entirely sure how to get them. I'm sure they'll be readily accessible, but if you can get a 3 or 4 IV Pokemon in a couple of egg batches, it's probably better for you to do.

Plus the Level 100 requirement is a mild obstacle.

caps are an alternative, or even a compliment, not a replacement.
You still need eggmoves in many cases, the cap system simply allows you to not be as autistic if you get a shiny, perfect nature, perfect ability, egg move but it only has <5 IV

Filling the pokedex. I could transfer the whole dex each generation but I like going around catching pokemon. I don't breed that much because I prefer using showdown when it comes to battling
