>>28900949It's like Dynasty Warriors. It's safe and simple and serves a niche. But you can't reasonably expect such a shallow, repetitive series to receive critical acclaim. Especially when it mostly survives due to the brands they licence for it.
As a comfort food series I won't begrudge someone for liking it, I even liked the Chocobo games a fair bit myself. But if you think that the games are amazing and deserve critical acclaim you're delusional.
