Magmar is my favorite Pokemon of all time so I didn't know how to feel about Magmortar for the longest time. But he grew on me after a while, and a fat demon clown with literal cannons for hands is at least pretty unique among Pokemon.

me and my only issues with them would be solved by even a barebones DP remake.

Kanto needs another remake way more, but they'd have to go beyond the full nine yards to make it worthwhile, totally overhauling Kanto and the Sevii Islands to make them truly robust as a map and as a setting.

I'm not really a fan of Gen IV but I hope Gamefreak makes the games justice and fixes a lot of glaring flaws.

The game speed is a given to be fixed.

Hopefully the pokemon distribution and TM issue gets solved, too.

And people who liked it will be happy to play a remake presumably (although I liked gen 3 and didn't bother with ORAS so I guess that depends on how good the remake is). I liked Sinnoh and it's characters a lot. However, I wouldn't want DP remakes unless it's more of like HGSS and less ORAS. I'd love it to be two seoetste games that are basically platinum remakes in everything but name and box mascots.

Well, XY introduced Mega Evolutions as the Gen.'s gimmick and ORAS followed it up.
So if SM introduces Regional Evolutions as this Gen.'s gimmick, then DP remakes could follow it up as well unless the Z Moves are the Gen.'s gimmick instead.

Platinum would have been an alright game if it wasn't on the gen 4 engine. There was nothing wrong with Sinnoh as a region, the gen just had the highest density of offensively bad designs (several of which wrecked formerly good designs) and absolutely fucking awful distribution to the point where more than half of the new final form pokemon were postgame.

Seriously though whoever designed Rhyperior, Magmortar and Electivire should neck themselves holy shit those were ugly.
