As said in previous posts, the general rule is if the character has an English name from the games, they are referred to by that name, such as Lillie and Lana, but if they were introduced in the anime then their Japanese names are known long before their dub names (and because nobody watches the dub because it is literal garbage) so they are referred to by them, like Shota and Millefeui.
Basically there are localised names, such as Lillie and May; and there are dub names like Sawyer and Miette. We use localised names but we don't use dub names.
