>Final Starters do not have split evolutions. They, along with Rockruff, (And the Kalos starters) have special Z moves that allow them to transform. Z-forms. If these pokemon get knocked out, then it's an automatic loss.
>To all of you who are planning to Box your starter because you hate their designs, congrats! You can't! At least not until after you beat the game. They are a permanent team member. They also don't evolve via level, more during events in the game. They evolve to their middle stage when you fight UB-02.
>Megas can be used alongside Z-forms.
>There are new Megas. But they are few and far between.
>Type: Null is one of the few pokemon to actually get a Mega. Bringing it up because it's the only Gen VII pokemon to get a Mega, and one of the few you'll encounter during the main game. It's helmet is blasted off. Not very much visual change, however it's body can change during attacks. It gets Protean.
>Jangmo-o has a split evolution, like Rockruff. Not sure if it's version exclusive or not. They're Dragon-Fighitng, which has gone bipedal, and Dragon-Steel, which is Quadripedal.
>Comfey basically becomes this generation's Gardevoir/Lopunny/Gothirita. Looks kinda like a Hula Dancer.
>Wimpod becomes amazingly badass. Like, holy shit. It's like Kabutops 2.0.
>There is a Toucan pokemon. Normal Flying, pretty average looking, kinda like Chatot but for a Toucan instead of a parrot. Can either have Keen eye or GALE WINGS.
>Dolphins are Dragons and Dragons are Dolphins.
>Solgaleo/Lunala Pre-evo is real, and is a Cosmic Voltorb. Not literally, just a description.
