Most of Gen 7 Pokemon are much more interesting than Alolan starters in their final stage. At least you can make up yo two several teams with cool mons unlike in Unova where both starters and regional mons were all shit until late game.

I hated Samurott and Emboar when I first saw them, but Gen 5 overall quickly became my favorite. After playing it a couple of times, I wanted to try the other starters, so I picked Oshawott and I picked Tepig in BW2.
They grew on me, man! I spent time with them, they helped me over my journey, even if it was an easy one, and helped me become the champion!
Give them a chance, at least. You have nothing to lose.

Robinroot is great but Poppmaid is pretty bad and Luchalitten is definitely my new least favorite pokémon by really fucking far. I can legitimately not find one thing good about this thing, even if I try to force myself. It's just the antithesis of everything I like.
And I'll be using Lurantis for sure so Robinroot will get boxed unless Lurantis is too lategame for some reason. Rock Doggo will probably be my starter.

Second stage evos have historically been the crowing jewel of so many starter lines in my opinion. Alola starters really drop the ball.

I always have one starter that I prefer above all other. Now I equally dislike them all. I'll likely pick a random one and box it for the first time ever.

I hope they have psudo-starters early on like Oddish for Bulbasaur and Poliwag for Squirtle.

Ain't shit confirmed yet. It's still possible that those leaks are fake just as much as they could be real. Until we have an official reveal, I withhold judgement.

That said, if they're real, I'm rolling with a water starter as always and I'll just reset until I get a female Popplio so I don't have a drag queen, and if they're not and Litten stays bipedal and turns into some sort of amazing fire tiger then I'll use him in my second play through.
