There has to be some sort of catch to this right? Like maybe wins you earn with rented Pokémon don't count or something? Because this completely defeats the purpose of breeding and EV/IV training once and for all. One person is all it takes to make Smogon sets everyone can just copy and use like how Smash 4 tournaments all have Wii Us with all characters unlocked.

Hacking completely defeated the purpose of EV/IV training a LONG time ago m8. They'll use rentals or they'll use a fully hacked team of perfect IV shinies that they genned in 10 minutes that would take a breeder 10-20 hours of gameplay to make.

99% of the pokemon at worlds were hacked and the guy who won it used all hacked pokemon.

So either this feature will be worthless because it's not fleshed out enough, or it will be perfect and Smogon will use it to perpetuate their shitty meta.

Or maybe this will enable other communities to flesh out their own systems and everything will work out for the better (but it probably won't).

This is really cool. I started playing Pokemon XY really late. So everyone's teams were on max levels ofcourse and I couldn't really play online until I beat the game. Now, someone who just started playing, can play online using completed teams. That's really cool.

There's a screenshot somewhere on the website that shows the limit of the options, and it's basically just single battle or double battle, flat, normal or unrestricted rules.

Someone still has to make the teams in first place to get them QR'ed. And there's no fucking way scanning the QR code will literally give you the Pokemon. They will surely get locked into a pseudo-battle box where you can use them only for online battles.

It does make certain things easier but this is no way replacing injecting.

With this, you don't even need to hack in Pokemon anymore for competitive. You can just make a QR code of the team you want, then scan it. Once someone makes a QR code maker for this. That will be cool.
