Okay, all the other info aside, is anyone else happy they've brought back something super similar to join avenue but you can now directly interact with others?

God the amount of features this gen is nuts.

I definitely am. I've been telling my friends that it looks like SM will be easy mode just like XY, and we don't know what the post game will be like, but they've added so much new content, that it can actually be forgivable this time around. Festival Plaza, and the Poke Palego look like they'll provide tons of entertainment in their own right.

What? Wonder Trade and WT battles are fun as fuck. The first month or two of collecting friend safari stuff was fun. Horde battles make EV training easy as hell.

How neat was it? Was it like friend safari where you link once with someone and then they stay?

What was the appeal?

Nothing like Friend Safari. It involved constantly going back to the GTS and trading with more people so you did it in bursts really.

Whenever you traded over GTS or anywhere else even the person you traded with would show up in your Join Avenue to help raise its level and shit.

Everyone started trading magnemites for other magnemites just to keep it going. I think it was based on a pun from the Japanese name of them.

Join Avenue brought a lot of features such as faster egg hatching, cheaply buying in bulk EV items and potions, as well as straight up EV training and even a way to boost Happiness easily for evolutions.. Super useful tool.

Yeah, all of those things WERE great. I wonder trade all the time, Horde's were great for EV training, and Friend Safari's were fun to trade FC's for and shiny hunt.
