>>28927212I'm on the same fence as this guy here, pretty much. I'm trying to like them, but at the same time, the femininity of the last two stages are really, really making me uncomfortable. Like, not in the sense of "muh masculinity" because
I'm actually a girl, but in the sense that, it doesn't really feel right or fair to those who wanted a Popplio to at least look believable enough to be both male and female.
I've lost count on how many people I've seen claiming they're going to soft reset for a female after seeing Poppmaid or for a more recent example, Brionnen (I always keep forgetting its name for some reason). But that just feels wrong. Shouldn't a design at least make some sort of sense to make people at least accept these regardless of gender or whatever falls into their laps?
It kind of feels like a poorly thought out design, because I'm not exactly sure of how many people legitimately wanted their Popplio to become a pop star/idol, or at least, it looks like it'll become something like that. I know they had their game on possibly making a feminine Water starter, which to a extent, I don't mind and I'm sure some are thrilled over having a elegant Water pokemon, but this feels like a kick in the groin as well for those who expected anything but a frilly pop idol.
