This pic gets posted a lot, but it's nitpicky as fuck honestly. It doesn't even acknowledge that most of the trainer levels have been increased in the late game.

Levels are relative. The trainers getting 1 or 2 extra levels doesn't matter if there's an extra 1 or 2 levels of content they added somewhere and it doesn't come close to making up for the fact that you're handed a 350% exp share early in the game for free and mega stones for free mid game.

GSC has lowest objective levels of any pokemon game but it's still far harder than any gen 6 game because of how the level curve progression is built.
