Im glad the majority prefer gen 3. They are the best starters honestly.

Best designs, first VARIED designs (unlike copypaste reptiles of gen 1 with fat bodies), useful ingame and and in comp, great megas, unique but not a clusterfuck visually (adheres to the restrained exoticness of hoenn, shit like gen 4 and 5 are a fucking confetti eyesore)

Technically, humanoid starters began to appear in Generation III with Blaziken and humanoid Water-type starters began to appear in Generation IV. Feminine starters started with Meganium in Generation II, and were later brought back with Serperior in Generation V. I don't hate them like some others do, however.

To be honest Blastoise was not exactly that good design either. He is a tortoise with two cannons that suddenly popped out of its shell after two consecutive forms that had the theme of "squirrel" and "turtle" with the developing of squirrel ears and tail that suddenly disappear in the final form.

Those are still not bad taste anon. None of them make it to my top 10 overall favorite mons but all are respectably favorite designs of mine.

My tastes varies between cute and cool and somehow in my top 10 it contains at least one of every generation. Xerneas barely made it.
