Is it possible you might have to use the new Pokémon Amie to draw forth your starter's full power? They all say something about having a trainer who can help it or something. Same for Lycanroc.

Dartrix also gains spots on his wings, and you can see it retreating due to it's inability to focus.

It might look different but there are a lot of things spot on for those two.

Owlrow sweeps the board though. Best first, second, and third form.

Nah, you obtain something to change Overgrow/Torrent/Blaze, your starter wins Battle Bond (like Greninja) so can use their Bond Phenomenon form, thats all

Luchalitten seems to me like the least bad design of the three to me, because Robinhoot's glasses odd me out.
I'll just wait until official art and 3D models are shown.

Because the final evolutions are TOO different and the themes aren't there. There are no arrows, no wrestling and no singing. They would literally just be arbitrarily changing the entire design and slapping on stupid as fuck random themes that weren't present at all in the previous forms. The mid evos are too different.
