kek, fairy is retarded. It hits three of the top five strongest offensive types SE, resists two of them and is immune to one of them. It's only weak to what, prior to this gen, were the two worst offensive typings in the game. It's resisted by 3 types, but the fire resist rarely matters. Poison resist is barely more consequential because there are very few poison types that aren't shitmons (for example, in Smogon OU there are only two poison types and some metas have even fewer). So really it's just steel that deals with them. All of the common fairy counters are steel types.

Fairy needs to lose its bug resist at the very least.

Yeah, that'd probably bring it into line. I get their 'logic' in that folklore critters frequently control insects but for game balance purposes fairy needs another weakness.

Ice/Rock is a good typing though.

On something fast and hard hitting. Not on something slow and with tons of bulk.

I'll never understand Gamefreak fetish with making ice and rock mons slow and bulky with no offensive stats.

Weavile is literally the only ice type that sees any significant use in the VGC meta and the ice typing is mostly irrelevant to its performance there. Weavile only sees use because it has the fastest fake out and knock off in the meta. The ability to lay the hurt on M-Quaza/M-Mence is just a bonus, it's mostly there to stop Smeargle from doing his thing on turn one and maybe knocking off an item.

Weavile also has Pursuit for singles so it can actually guarantee KOs, and Knock Off to remove items from switch ins. Plus Ice/Dark isn't resisted by a single typing, which means it doesn't always have to go for coverage if it doesn't need to.

Welcome the Steel/Fairy slaying Beast, Stab fire and can poison any Steel Type, nothing of its stats or move pool is out yet, and its already a favorite among many.
Theres nothing to defend when it comes fairy/steel its a typing that is advantageous but not overpowered, hence why it didnt dominate the meta
