I haven't played the games since SA2, is there still absolutely no canonical reasoning as to why Shadow closely resembles Sonic, and the player is just supposed to believe it's all a weird coincidence?

Hopefully, since I'll be using both of them on my team.

Mimikyu should become some cutesy ghost with a Pikachu hoodie and Salandit should become a Komodo dragon.

I hope mimikyu evolves to mimic another pokemon to mirror a change in what it wants. Like maybe being lonely makes it resentful and it makes a tyranitar costume to feel strong instead of loved.

There will be another ghost/fairy that looks like a bigger version of Mimikkyu, but it won't be an evolution of it. It'l be a completely separate 'mon, like Bouffalant to Tauros.

Maybe after strong friendship with the trainer, it removes the Pikachu costume + increased stats instead of just limping its head? Sort of like Aegislash stance change

The Shadow game reveals that Gerald apparently went to Angel Island at one point and saw that mural in Hidden Palace of Super Sonic fighting Eggman for the Master Emerald, and that's where he got the idea to make his ultimate lifeform a hedgehog.

Well here's my autism showing. Scientists wanted to make muh ultimate lifeform, and looked at an ancient civilization for a model for a godlike being. They found a tablet that predicted the final fight in Sonic adventure between perfect chaos and super sonic. They based the prototype on Chaos, hence the biolizard, and when that didn't work out they used super sonic as the model, which made Shadow. I guess that explains his quills looking like super Sonics too.

My idea is it getting a mage, witch, or magical girl like outfit from the costume. With the body making up a robe/dress and the head becoming a "hat." GIVE ME MIMAGIK, GAMEFREAK!
