and before anyone starts shouting the "mistranslation" meme, it still said that the starters had a secret. What possibly could be a secret about starters? They have been very stable for 6 generations. They're not going to have megas, and if they have exclusive Z-moves that's not really a secret anymore because we know about 3 exclusive Z-moves already.

every time I see this I am reminded of Zorua->Zoroark. Corocoro claimed Zorua's evolution was something unique and not seen before and it was just a level up evo. nothing special. Corocoro likes to hint at big things, but if you'll notice their focus this month is not the starters but Type: Null. I strongly doubt the starters have any significant secret. At most they have their own z moves, or by some absurd twist they have battle bond in their third stage. Split evos aren't impossible but they're very unlikely.

theres literally nothing else that could be secret bc we already saw the starters use Z moves and pikachu, eevee, raichu, and snorlax have signature z moves so its not like starter Z moves in the Z move generation wouldn't be something we expect.

I agree that it doesn't seem like they'll have split/exclusive evolutions but I cant think of anything else secret-worthy.

There hasn't been a version exclusive split evolution before, though. Not terribly exciting but they are taking bigger steps to make the games have different experiences with the 12 hour difference business.

I mean, there's a reason all the starter evos and both Lycanrocs mention in their blurbs how they don't fully open up to their trainers right away in some way

Isn't it that Type: Null is a chimera of the three starters + Rockruff, since they should play an important part of the plot, and it works with the Type: Null puzzle piece

But it was unique, do you know any Pokemon with an ability like Illusion ? It was his gimmick and made it totally unique and never seen before
