An SM port for the NX? The return of third versions? DP remakes? Red and Blue re-remakes? Gen 8?

either RB remakes, or a third version.
A sequel is a bit too obvious, at this point third versions returning would be just as much of a surprise as jumping straight to gen 8.
I expect the DP remakes to be gen 8, for the record.

Its either DP remakes or we're taking a year break and in 2018 gen 8 on NX

2 years for gen 7 is enough

The point of the remakes are that Y can't play them on the most recent hardware, you can still play Diamond and Pearl on the 3DS.
It's the same reason ORAS wasn't remake in Gen 5, you could play GBA games on the DS

It's way more likely that DP remakes will be on the NX along with Gen 8.

The next game will neither be Gen 8 or D/P remakes (too soon). It's gonna be something different, whatever it is.

Here are some hypothesis:
-Kanto remakes with Johto postgame.
