It mostly depends on where the game takes place.
You could have a big desert area, with lots of Ground types.
It's a mostly hot and dirty country, so Poison and Fire types.

Consider how the have some bodies of water they consider holy, some water based Legendaries are a must.
The main Legendaries can be anything. There's a lot to choose from. If they go with the most popular choice, they could use the Trimurti.

Seeing how different religions cause a lot of conflict in India, this could be the inspiration of the evil teams.
There could be two teams, one worshiping and wanting to meet Brahma-Legendary to change the world, while the other wants to meet Vishnu-Legendary. This fighting angers the Shiva-Legendary, and it's your job as the player to stop him from destroying the region.
Know that my knowledge of India is very limited. All this is what I gathered from a quick google search. But all in all, I think it could be an interesting region to play in, if we can tolerate the poo in the loo.
