Ilima is the official plant of Oahu, it was chosen for being a yellow flower (island color) and being a good native to plant in the yard. Therefore, whoever it is will probably be a first island trial captain. Options for typing are bug, because there is a moth called an ilima, but it's not from Hawaii, only introduced. It's also not well known in the first place. It's just a plain brown moth with a coincidental name. Fairy because leis and comfei, but a ton of plants are used for lei making and a lot more are more prominent than Ilima. Normal is a possibility because what sort of plant name would you use to describe normal. We already know that the normal trial is probably on the first island anyway. Ground is a possibility due to being both drought and salt air resistant, but a lot of plants can do that.
