Gamefreak is reknowned for making some terrible choices for games (in every gen), but they're going to have to fuck up pretty majorly to have these games not be top games.

I wouldn't go that far. They've presented a solution, but that doesn't mean the problem has gone away.

as long as there is literally any way to change IVs after the game generates the pokemon, the problem is solved as far as I'm concerned. I would have preferred if they removed IVs entirely but this solution is good enough.

no longer am I going to have gimp shinies or soft reset forever just for an imperfect legendary.
